Ron Hooton
Chief Executive Officer

Ron Hooton was appointed Chief Executive of San Carlo in December 2024 following 11½ years as CEO of Vision Australia and a further seven years as CEO of ProCare Health in Auckland. He brings a wealth of leadership and governance experience to San Carlo and specialist expertise in strategy, organisational transformation, the development of team culture, and Information Technology. Ron has an MBA, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and has formal coaching qualifications.

Lisa Zhang
Clinical Care Manager

Lisa Zhang is an experienced Clinical Care Manager with over 16 years in nursing, specialising in residential aged care and geriatric health. She is dedicated to person-centred, evidence-based care for older adults with complex needs.
Holding a Master’s in Nursing and qualifications in Immunisation and Infection Prevention and Control, Lisa serves as a certified IPC Lead, ensuring clinical safety and high infection control standards.
She works closely with residents, families, and care teams to uphold Aged Care Quality Standards, bringing strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Sandra Richardson
Admissions & Funding Manager

Sandra was employed at San Carlo in October 2008 in the admissions and funding role.
She became an Enrolled Nurse in 1978 and worked as a nurse in Aged Care until starting her employment at San Carlo.
She also has a Diploma in Business Management and a Diploma in Project Management.

Michelle Phang
HR Manager

Michelle commenced her appointment at San Carlo in August 2019 as Human Resource & Payroll Coordinator, bringing over 8 years extensive experience in human resources with a particular focus in aged care. In February 2021, Michelle assumed the role of Human Resources Manager. Michelle’s expertise lies in strategic HR Management, organisational development, and workforce planning. She possesses a Diploma in Human Resource Management and currently pursuing her MBA.

Soleydi Luque Toro
Management Accountant

Soleydi Luque was appointed as the Management Accountant over the hectic Covid period in June 2020. Soleydi has worked in Finance for 19 years, with 5 years in the aged care industry. She possesses a wealth of knowledge in accounting processes, prudential compliance and AASB standards, with a passion for developing financial modernisation, resulting in several business improvements at San Carlo. She has a Master of Accounting and is currently pursuing her CPA qualification.

Cameron Lovat
Environmental Services Manager

With over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Cameron is an Environmental Services Manager specializing in aged care facility operations, building management, and renovation projects. He began his career as a chef, bringing a deep understanding of food services and the vital role that meal delivery plays in enhancing the well-being of elderly residents. However, after recognizing the broader impact of a well-maintained environment on resident care and quality of life, Cameron shifted focus to Environmental Services, combining expertise in food service management with a passion for creating safe, accessible, and comfortable living spaces.

Ennita Nyandoro
Clinical Care Coordinator

Ennita Nyandoro was appointed Clinical Care Coordinator in January 2023 after 10 years working as Registered nurse DIV 1 at San Carlo. Ennita has further 12 years working in aged care and acute care in Queensland and United Kingdom. She brings in a lot of experience in leadership and knowledge in caring for the aged to San Carlo. In addition to her bachelor’s in nursing, Ennita has Graduate Diploma in nursing with Victoria University, Diploma of credits from Anglia Ruskin University in Essex UK, ACIPC Foundation of Infection Prevention and Control (FIPC) certificate. Ennita is currently studying Master of Nursing, specialising in Gerontology, which she expects to finish in August 2025.

Subhash Kuppadakkath
Quality, Risk & Governance Coordinator

Dr Subhash Chandran Kuppadakkath
Dr Subhash Kuppadakkath has been serving as the Quality, Risk and Compliance Coordinator at San Carlo since January 2025. Subhash has extensive experience in developing and implementing robust quality management, and clinical governance systems and driving continuous improvement across various healthcare settings. Subhash has participated in a number of national and international accreditation processes including ISO, JCIA, ACIS, NDIS and ACQSC. In addition to holding a Master of Nursing and a Post Graduate Diploma in HealthCare Management, Subhash is a Registered Nurse with a recent PhD.

Rosemary Paradiso
Finance Officer

Rosemary Paradiso was appointed as our Finance Officer in May 2017. Rosemary has worked in Finance for over 25 years, with 13 years in the aged care sector. She has extensive knowledge of government funding, financial prudential reporting and aged care fees. Rosemary’s primary focus is to ensure our residents and families are financially guided and well informed of the process from admission to departure.

Blazenka Pranic
Reception/Administration

Blazenka was appointed to the Receptionist/Administration role in 2009. She has a Certificate IV in Frontline Management and Certificate IV in Customer Contact. Blazenka is well-known for being our front-line face, and is a dedicated and organised receptionist with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service and managing a busy front desk.

Dr Claudio Baldi
Board Chair

Born in Rome, Italy, Dr Baldi has been part of the San Carlo Board since 1997 and has been our Board Chairman since 2015.
As a GP for over 40 years, he has been supporting the elderly Italian Community for much of his career.
In his spare time, Dr Baldi enjoys cycling and ballroom dancing.
Dr Baldi currently sits on the Risk Committee, Finance Committee, and, when on duty at San Carlo, the Medication Advisory Committee. Dr Baldi has also participated in the ‘Breakfast with the Board' event with residents and the Friends of San Carlo Group meetings.

Mr Anthony Mutton
Deputy Chairman

GradDipAgedServsMgmt, FTIA, FGIA, GAICD

Mr Mutton was appointed to the Board of Mayflower in 2003 and was appointed Chair of the Board in October 2020, following two years as Deputy Chair. Mr Mutton has over 30 years of experience in the aged care sector. He held senior roles with Aged Care Victoria (ACV) and the Victorian Association of Health and Extended Care (VAHEC) which was formerly the aged care peak body in Victoria, and was previously Chair of Edith Bendall Lodge. Mr Mutton is currently managing director of City Fresh Wholesalers Pty Ltd. In 2021, Anthony completed a Governing for Not-For-Profit Excellence program with Harvard University.

Mr Jeykishan Thagasalam
Board Secretary

With a steadfast commitment to advocating for marginalised individuals, my journey began as a Physiotherapist dedicated to providing quality care for one of our most vulnerable populations – the elderly. Driven by a desire to create lasting change, I set out to become a leader in the aged and disability care industry to harness the wider influence that comes with leadership and ultimately, empower people to live their best lives.
To actualise this vision, I climbed the ranks through various management positions and now serve as the General Manager of Operations at BlueCross Aged care. My career experience has seen me lead and transform business - from strategy development to implementation; to cultural change and success. Alongside my professional advancement, I pursued a postgraduate degree in Business Management to complement my Physiotherapy background and am presently enrolled in the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.

Valentino Marinelli
Board Treasurer

Valentino Marinelli is an accomplished Chief Financial Officer with extensive experience overseeing all financial functions. He excels in preparing monthly management reports and annual financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and transparency. His expertise in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting drives informed financial decisions.
Valentino has successfully led financial team’s implementing fully integrated financial and HR software, enhancing operational efficiency.
His strong focus on risk management has established a robust framework that supports strategic planning.
With proven experience liaising with external auditors and stakeholders, he ensures compliance while fostering valuable relationships.
As a board member, Valentino's strategic insights and commitment to financial excellence will be instrumental in driving sustainable growth and innovation of SanCarlo Homes.

Mr David Baldi

David completed his Juris Doctor at Melbourne University in 2015. He is now a Senior Associate at Ashurst, working as part of their Digital Economy team.
Since joining the Board in 2020, David has supported San Carlo in meeting our regulatory obligations. His knowledge and attention to detail have made him a valuable member of the team.
David has always been enthusiastic about music, inspiring him to learn guitar and bass in his teen years. He now shares this passion with his 6-month-old daughter, who enjoys nightly dance session before bed.

Fr Ignacio Guttierez
Scalabrini Provincial

Fr. Ignacio Gutierrez (aka Fr Nacho) was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco – Mexico, in 1969. He has been a member of the Scalabrinian congregation since 1994, and was ordained as a priest in 2004.
Since May 2021, Fr. Nacho has been serving as the Provincial Superior of Scalabrini priests and brothers in the Australia-Asia Province. Around this same time, he commenced his tenure as the Scalabrini representative on the San Carlo Board.

Sr Rosa Nakai

Born in Brazil to Japanese migrant parents, Sister Rosa Nakai pursued her studies to become a missionary at College of Pio XII in Londrina, Brazil, before she was officially accepted into the Missionary Sisters of St Anthony Mary Claret.
Sister Rosa undertook a nursing course in 1966 in Brazil before traveling to many places for missions including the Ivory Coast and several other locations in Brazil. She then traveled to Melbourne in 1979 where she worked here at San Carlo as a Division 2 nurse until 1991.
In 1997, she returned to San Carlo where she has provided many years of service as part of our Pastoral Care team before retiring in January 2024.

Sr Analyn Saing

Sr. Analyn Saing was born in the Philippines and on the time she completed her bachelor’s degree in Education in the year 1998, Sr. Analyn joined the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of St. Anthony Mary Claret. She was also the Directress of Claret School of Quezon City Child Study Center (Quezon City Philippines). During her juniorate formation, she was sent to Rome for her further studies at the Pontifical Salesian University. As soon as she concluded her studies in Rome, she went to Brazil in preparation for her perpetual profession and when finally she made her final vows in 2009 she was sent to Indonesia for her mission as superior and formator. Sr. Analyn arrived in Australia in 2019 and her first apostolate in this promising country was in Assisi Aged Care as a Pastoral Care Staff then she was transferred to San Carlo Home for the Aged in July 2023 as part of the Pastoral Care Team.

Fr Vito Pegolo

Father Vito was born and raised in Italy, where he was also fortunate enough to commence his formation and journey as a Priest many years ago.
In 2005, Father Vito first became affiliated with San Carlo as a member of the pastoral care team, providing spiritual support and celebrating mass with our residents weekly. He is very well known in Italian catholic communities and is a big support to our residents and families, especially at times of loss where he provides our San Carlo community with personalised care and support for the funeral masses.

Fr Luciano Toldo

Born in Brazil, Fr Luciano was raised there completing not only his primary and secondary education but a degree in Philosophy and theology as well. Shortly after being ordained as a priest, Fr Luciano came to Australia, where he was a minister to the Spanish communities for 10 years.
In 2015, Fr Luciano become a member of the San Carlo board where he is the representative for the Provincial Superior of the Missionaries of St Charles, Scalabrinians. He has also been part of our pastoral care team, providing spiritual support to our residents and visiting families in times of need.
